UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON, FRIDAY HARBOR,
SELECTS MODEL 1520H RESEARCH WATER TUNNEL
December 8, 2011 - Rolling Hills Research Corporation
is pleased to announce that the
University of Washington Friday Harbor Laboratories has selected the
1520 Research Water Tunnel for incorporation into it's education
and research program. This water tunnel
holds approximately 1,000 gallons of water and featuring a working test
section that is 20 inches deep and 15 inches wide. The tunnel has the high
speed option, making it capable of velocities in the test section of 3 ft/s.
This tunnel also features highly corrosion resistant components for studies
simulating marine environments using salt water.
UW has also selected the
5-component force and moment balance
and a custom model support system to enhance their laboratory capabilities.
